These needles are as good as name brand needles and are now brand names themselves. I'm a quilter so it's recommended to use a new needle when starting a new quilt, so I use quite a few needles. Add to that the cutting into the throat plate because I forgot to switch to the zigzag plate on my 401a, and the general awkwardness of my Janome MC3000 (such a diva!), and the bodies are really starting to add up. If I bought needles in fancy Schmetz plastic packaging from Joanne I would have to stop buying fabric and baby we know THAT isn't going to happen, right? Exactly!
