Unlike other wireless remote controls (e.g. Pixel Pro TW-283), this transmitter must remain within range of the receiver at all times for long exposures (night shots, for example). If at some point the sender loses contact with the receiver, your effect ceases, and when you reconnect, a new one begins. So instead of a 5 minute exposure, you can get multiple shorter exposures by putting the transmitter in your pocket and walking behind a vehicle or other person. The transmission range turned out to be MUCH shorter than the advertised 60+ meters for me.
