Review on Effortless Precision: Discover the Ryobi P591 Gauge Offset Shears by Eric Pavelko

It does the job though.

Great tool. It does the job I bought it for in the sense that I used it to cut metal roofing to length. The only problem is that the metal roof I cut out has ridges (6 inches or so of flat metal, then the ridge, bulge or whatever you want to call it comes out about 3/4 to 1 inch high). If the cutter comes to any of these ridges/bulges, the size of the blade and ridge will require you to manipulate the cutter to smooth the cut. After I finished the cut that was 36 inches wide, I had to go back with hand scissors to make a smoother one or lower the price to get a straight edge. My guess is that if you just cut flat metal you'll probably be fine.

Pros
  • Scissors and Nibbler
Cons
  • Not sure
