Definitely not for high intensity activities or those who are not good with shoes. The shaft is cardboard, not leather, and is initially very stiff. The box has no constriction, which may suit some, but if you have a narrow foot or constriction, then this shoe is not for you. The straps are pre-sewn but you will need your own elastic. Due to the stiffness of the upper I would not recommend it for beginner pointe shoes or those with weak arches. The shoes are best for wide eating, I have a very narrow foot so there is a lot of room in them. They definitely don't look like brand name textured pointe shoes, but they work well as long as you don't wear pointe shoes more than once a week. The fit is a little big, I ordered my size for a street show but could have halved the size and fit better.
