I have 5 daughters and a footbath that I never use. I bought this for my youngest daughter (age 7) hoping it would free up at least one slot for me. . . and to my surprise he became a favorite of the house. I was concerned when it arrived as it was marked 3+ and is listed 7-12. I think older kids can use it with no problem and my family is proof of that. Runs on 4 AA batteries and lasts a long time. He does not heat, but makes "massage bubbles" and plays "relaxation music". I wouldn't prefer music, but my daughters love it. The set includes the same basics as at the spa: the same soft foam slippers, polish, files and toe separators.
