I can't say what to expect from the reviews on this product. but for $20 I was willing to take a chance based on other inexpensive HWK motorcycle rags I've bought. Much more than I expected for the cost of the underwear. They sit on the big side (which is what I want in breeches). The hip and knee pads are a bit thin but definitely better than Street Levi/Cotton. The vent patches seem to have helped on a hot day when I rode them. Nylon material is typical, good slip protection *but* not the best feel, so personally I need a looser fit. The days of my modeling gear are long gone and I'll be taking comfort into my own hands. I am very happy with it, the HWK touring pants I bought before were great up until the 70s, they are suitable for hot tours. Any reference to "water resistance" is not accurate. They have large open mesh panels on the thighs and lower legs.
