I bought, tested and returned this unit. As far as I can tell, everything works correctly, although it's not that easy to use. It's basically the app that's getting in the way. I wanted a programmable socket that could turn our network modem/router on and off and get the job done. Scheduling is done through the app and is stored on the socket device so it is not lost or disabled when WiFi is turned off. However, the app is quite difficult to decrypt and I couldn't find any help for it. You can find that out with perseverance. Unfortunately, the schedule is limited to 15-minute blocks. It only takes me 1 or 2 minutes between turning it off and on, but 15 is the minimum for this device. Again, all of the programming is a bit clunky and difficult to understand, but if the 15-minute on-off time resolution is okay, that helps. You must be within Bluetooth range to use the remote control. Our Samsung SmartThings setup is a lot more versatile in terms of switches, remotes, timers and more, but the Wi-Fi network needs to be up and running for everything to work. It cannot be used to restart wifi and modem.
