I started with a 3/4 inch Ikea desktop with a clip. I have 2 monitors in portrait mode with a monitor above. The whole setup wobbles. I upgraded to a 1.5" solid butcher block countertop with a grommet mount. Now he's gotten stronger. I can't shake monitors by hitting the table. They are still difficult to position because they tend to move the entire squad. I have some U-bolts to put under the brackets so I can rotate them on the bar without adjusting the height. It would be nice to incorporate some sort of stop collar to do the same. I'll probably add a spacer to the top of the post on the wall at some point.
