I needed a bedside lamp that was easy to turn on and off. I also have a toddler who loves to sort things. It has withstood my toddler's shenanigans (sturdy construction) and provides an excellent low light. The shadows it casts can be too distracting when you're reading in bed. It has two USB ports at the base, which comes in handy when you have a short phone cord. Actually, no assembly is required, just screw in the included bulb. Great value for money, I would buy again. It was difficult to show the black in the photo I uploaded because of the glare, but it's not a glossy black. I would say the finish is silkier. The experience with the seller is also positive, the lamp came a day earlier than I expected.
