Rusty steel not fully stainless, poor design

This perch bird bowl set is a great idea in theory, but the execution is really bad. I wanted this for a coaster that I already have bowls. I thought I could attach these bowls to one of the poles. Unfortunately, the clamp on this one doesn't open wide enough (perch should probably be less than an inch). If you have a very specific use for these bowls that isn't possible any other way, they might be worth trying, but if you have other options, it's probably better to go with one. Because it just doesn't fit. good product. The shells are stainless steel, of course, but the nuts and bolts clearly aren't, and that's the problem. Birds are very sensitive to poisoning from various metals. So I highly recommend replacing the ones that come with the kit with stainless steel nuts and bolts. But there is also a problem with the rest of the assembly. My pen is very rusted. And the placement is just uncomfortable. The shells are not attached to the clamp, but tightening the screws will be difficult due to the very small gap to catch the nut or Phillips head screw. Mine comes with the shanks of the screws pointing into the shells, making it very difficult to clamp the clamp holding the shells. Replace the bolts/nuts and align with the bolt heads in the shells. You should tighten them fairly tightly, otherwise your bird could easily knock the bowls over. A two-point connection on each bowl, attached to a wider clamp, would have eliminated this problem. Also, the shells are not level. If you are using one of these for water you should fill it below the screw (because it will leak) but you must also fill it below as the bowls are crooked. does not hold the perch securely. All but the smallest birds can remove it. If you don't attach the perch very firmly to whatever you're attaching it to (like a cage) or if your bird loosens the wing nut, the entire perch will rotate and also drop the bowl when the bird doesn't have it already blown away. A textured element would solve this problem, not just plain washers. With all these design flaws, I cannot recommend this item.
