This router randomly lost internet connectivity, which typically took about 5 minutes. Then everything will be fine again. I replaced the router with an 8 port switch and no problems. I tried the router with a different internet connection and encountered the same intermittent errors. Tried the old LinkSys router on this second link and it was ok. I called Netgear. The employee, whom I had difficulty understanding, prompted me to reboot the router. This caused my Wi-Fi connected printers to stop working and I had to reset them. There were repeated power outages. The second representative, also incomprehensible, made several changes to the router parameters. Vain. I could barely understand the third repetition, so I asked for a tutor. He, at least I could understand, and came to the conclusion that the router needed to be replaced. Every time I called I was asked a series of questions, the same questions. Even the information I entered prior to speaking to the representative (e.g. case number) had to be communicated verbally to the representative. Very exhausting and made worse by poor English skills. Hopefully if you buy this router you won't have to call customer service. Update August 10, 2017 - The new router had the same problem as the original. Now I'm pretty sure it's the firmware. Called support to report my ongoing issue. I didn't want another replacement. I just wanted to let your techs know that there might be a firmware issue. I had the same difficult time with support. Same questions again, even though I had a case number. The support agent is very difficult to understand due to poor English skills.
