Review on πŸ“Ί August DTA180 HDTV Antenna: Portable Mini Digital Aerial with Magnetic Base for Optimal TV Reception by William Obong

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good value for money

Just received this digital antenna and did some quick testing and it works very well. It receives about 18 stations in a room in my house where I had no reception on my Prisim 7" LCD monitor's standard antenna. is intended to be received. It only has a gain of 1.08 dB, so it is not a high- Gain antenna but is not advertised as such. The listing simply does not state the antenna gain. in horizontal position (horizontal polarization) than in vertical position. You have to put it on something metallic to make a good ground plane. Without it it is no better than wet pasta.I find that a 10x14 baking sheet leaning against something on a bookshelf works better than the side of a filing cabinet. For the price and size this is a 5 star purchase.,This antenna has a gain of 3.0 which means the signal is three times stronger than the DTA180 For a few bucks this can be a great option in areas where stations are far away or harder to pick up I have this item l ordered and will let you know next week after i have had a chance to test it. Follow-up report: I received and tested the DTA240 High Gain Digital TV Antenna. Testing this antenna in the same locations as the less expensive DTA180 did not yield better results. The DTA180 is your best buy - it's very small, fits easily in a carrying bag and picks up more stations than the high gain DTA240 antenna. In my opinion - save your money, use a $5 antenna.
