The lid is made of a rigid, inflexible material that makes the pot difficult to remove. It was an arm wrestle every time, and I even managed to hurt a finger when one of the heavy angles leaned against me instead of letting go. That thing is a baking trap. I don't like the design either. What I thought would be just a slightly raised ridge is actually a 1/2" domed top. It takes up extra fridge space as well as storage. If your brownies don't need a domed top or if you have hand or strength issues, this is it may not be the best choice for you.
