Transparency: This was a promotional razor. I've used cartridges, single blades, dual blades, razors, and straight razors. The look of this razor is sharp and stylish. The finish is good, the grip is solid with minimal slippage when shaving. The head has a medium aggressiveness and is excellent for everyday use. This would make a great gift for anyone trying to master the old school traditional wet shave. Nothing to complain about at this price point, but I wish the top cap and baseplate were made of a better material (aluminum or pot metal?) than what was used. I would pay a few bucks more for a better top as the grip is strong and heavy. The finishes were good and excellent for the price. The packaging far exceeded my expectations: a wooden box with an emblem, an information leaflet with recommendations for using artisan soap (I totally agree), and pre-moulded foam to protect the razor during transport. As far as I know this company is based in Australia and the razors are made in China. If you don't want to spend more on a beginner's razor this is a great option and nicely presented.
