Review on Sturdy Stability: Manfrotto 537SPRB Mid Level Spreader for Enhanced Support (Black) by Greg Simms

Cheap product makes cheap, breaks easily

I am very upset with my Manfrotto 546b tripod. I spent about $900 on it and the two leg locks are so loose (after only 2 months) that they can't hold the camera without shrinking and falling off (thank god there was only an mt T3i on it, not my 5d mark III ) . Also, and why am I writing here, the spreader simply broke after 2 uses. The cheap metal connectors that connect the expander to the tripod just twisted and broke instantly, rendering this $900 tripod almost useless. For years I've thought of Manfrotto as a really strong name in the film world. I recently had to use my cheap crappy tripod as a backup and it was only $45 and it works better. Too bad the company has lowered its standards so far.
