I decided to try this based on their shaving soap. I'm glad I did. It's expensive but worth it. Very nice smell (like an old barber shop as others have said). wood and spices. The scent is noticeable but not overpowering and lasts all day. It softens throughout the day but is still there at the end of the day. I would not recommend using cologne over it. softens the initial growth of the beard and eliminates this itching. Helps to style and control hair as it grows. I think I will continue to use this even after the initial phase. Definitely a noticeable difference in the softness of the beard. As someone else said, I wish the glass bottle didn't have a plastic cap, but that's a minor complaint, not enough to deduct a star. If you like Proraso shaving soap, try here
