If you follow the instructions on the box and trace the template you will remove a too large hole in the door. There is no space in the door for fastening screws. The actual hole you drill should be at least 1 inch narrower and an inch shorter than the stupid template. Worst installation guide I've ever come across. I can't believe they didn't fix this apparent flaw in their product, I had to drill new mounting screw holes in the cat door frame and of course they don't fit flush with the door. Haven't used the product yet but will never buy from this company again if they are so clueless with their lousy instructions. From other reviews I've seen that others have had this problem as well. Guys, you got that right, this isn't rocket science!
