I originally bought this for a Canon 5D and loved that I could get a dummy battery pack to power the monitor. Power consumption increases when you're powering the screen and camera at the same time, but with the 970's battery it's pretty tolerable. If I only use the monitor with my Sony FS700 I can use any 550 or 750 battery and it's fine. My favorite is to mount a large battery pack on the back of my shoulder mount and connect a monitor to the 12V socket to avoid loading the front of my mount. When I need to shoot with a lot of cameras on tripods I put this monitor on my 5D so I can plug it into mains power and have power supplies for my other cameras.
