The product is okay, it's not a waste of money!
Has pros: The gamepad is excellent, very comfortable and tactilely pleasant. Adaptive triggers from the PC only work in Sony games and in the Witcher (from what I tested). Cons: The battery drains pretty quickly, poor compatibility with a PC via BT - there are no problems at all with a cable.
