I have a couple of vintage Eggbeater 1 pedals that I have loved for miles. They get a little rusty but still work great. The matching spikes ensure good contact with the shoe - there is no extra space between the wings of the pedals and the sole of the shoe. But my good old boots were worn out (mainly from walking in them for too long). So, these new boots. While Crank Brothers claims they are compatible with Eggbeater pedals (no models listed), these cleats seem to leave more room between the pedal and the shoe. This results in a sloppy connection to the pedal. I see EB 2 pedals have "pin sockets" to solve this problem, but not for the plain old EB 1. If anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this problem, I'd appreciate it.
