Works as described and expected. You must have a powered USB-C charger that supports 15V 3A mode for it to work. Less powerful 18W chargers will not work with Surface Pro. The connector is solidly made and attached with the same force as the native power cord. There is a charge indicator on the plug. The adapter puts the charger into 15V mode and draws AC power based on what the Surface needs. When charging, the power adapter does not consume any electricity. I've been annoyed by the lack of USB-C charging on older Surface models for a long time. Finally decided to look for a USB-C adapter for Surface and found this one. Now I can charge my frequently used devices at the same time with one compact charger. I already have several UPS-C charging cables of different lengths. This adapter allows me to plug this adapter into a short USB-C cable so I don't clutter my desk, or into a long cable if I'm working elsewhere. Or use it with another computer's USB-C charger with a non-detachable USB-C cable. It's great to have options.
