Nice set of crayons BUT second compartment difficult to access. Yes, there are two tiny notches, but unless you have the smallest fingers in the world, this is going to take some effort. If you are interested in this item, you will likely need to secure some material to safely and easily lift the tray without needing a nail file or anything to remove! I didn't use them often as access to the bottom compartment was difficult. Ouch! You could pay $10 more in cash and buy a pencil case. but you don't really have to do that unless you just want it for aesthetic reasons etc. Maybe if you had a little pair of pliers you could access it. but it's ridiculous to do something like this with a brand new product! There are equally good kits that don't require an engineer or doctor to access! Be careful if you have big fingers!
