I just purchased this pretty little box for the 2nd time. I gave both of them as gifts. They are pretty, but very small. I don't remember if the first one had this problem but, the second one was difficult to open. I had a staple remover for heavy duty staples that has a flat piece of metal to slide under the staple and lift it up. So, that flat piece of metal was the perfect thickness to gently slide in between the lid of the box and the box and gently pry it open. I did not close it all the way after that. Other than that, like I said, it's small and pretty. It arrived quickly.
