This watch beats me!

This watch is going strong once everyone gets out. I bought it because I figured that a watch designed for the rigors of motocross racing would have a good chance of staying on my wrist at my job. I was not disappointed. I wore it every day for 8 months on intense, bone-crushing, rock-shattering excavations as an archaeologist field technician in Colorado, and it turned out to be in better shape than me. Day after day, I dug into hard ground with 6-pound Fiskers shovels (excellent shovels only managed to break a few, by the way) and broke cobblestones and bedrock with 16-pound pry bars. I ended the season with a trigger finger on my right hand. the minor and carpel tunnels start in both hands, and yet this watch has almost no scratches and still keeps time as accurately as you would expect from any other quartz watch. After eight months I switched the time to atomic clocks because they were 30-45 seconds wrong. not bad considering this watch has been subjected to severe shock and vibration on a daily basis throughout the field season. For this reason, I sincerely support Casio G-Shock watches. It has also shown no problems operating in temperatures between twenty and ninety degrees (and higher as it has been exposed to a lot of direct sunlight) and I'm sure it can handle even higher temperature extremes. The bracelet didn't bother me either; There are no signs of cracking and there are only the slightest dents and discoloration to remind me where to tighten them. As for the operation of the watch and its functions, I have no real complaints. The watch is a little chunky, but not chunky or big. They're just bigger than other watches I own (almost exclusively analog ones, which are usually smaller). The dial is very legible in any light and the dual backlight works well in the dark. I like it when the time, date and day of the week are all on the same screen. It's very nice to have this handy when you're working on documents in the midday heat of July, when it's often difficult to remember such information. I'll admit that I haven't used the other features much, except for the stopwatch, which I use sparingly. After getting used to analog clocks I just don't feel the need to use an alarm clock or anything like that so I didn't try it. The world time feature would be great if I was traveling between time zones, but all of my work this year was local so I might use it next year. The buttons are a little difficult to use at first, but you'll find your fingers hurt and then you'll get used to it. That's the price you pay for a watch that effectively protects the inner workings of the elements from the elements. In terms of looks, it's not something I'd wear with a suit and tie or for my usual weekend away from town. outfit. However, it is a beautiful digital watch that pairs well with rugged streetwear. They'll also look good with casual wear, but like I said, I prefer my counterparts for that. (24 hours time and mute is just a few button presses!), other archaeologists, Rambo, scuba divers (can't speak to its effectiveness in deep diving but I bet it's pretty good), rock climbers, pro athletes, lawyers. Law enforcement, ninjas and anyone looking for a truly durable and economical watch to wear on their wrist. with more information and photos. This watch still does its job very well. I've worn it while touring the mountains at high altitude, digging in the swamps of Louisiana, swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, and working in the sweltering summer heat in East Texas and beyond. It has survived torrential rain, extreme heat and cold, collisions, abrasions, falls and heaps of dirt and grime. Despite all that, it works just as well as the day I received it. I just wear it in the shower and have it cleaned by me. Rinse and repeat. There's a scratch on the glass, so what? Most watches get at least a few scratches after a year of use in much less demanding environments, and even more after 4 years of outdoor use. As I mentioned in my original review above, I haven't had any issues with the strap snapping or breaking so far. The original battery still lasts. Finally I added a compass to the strap because in the wild it's useful to have a compass handy and it also looks cool. I still highly recommend G-Shock watches.
