I bought two different contact papers to use for a craft I was working on. Both papers were black. This one was solid black while the other had a silk embossed pattern. I wanted to use paper to cover a small cardboard box. One worked great, the other, this one, didn't. Pros: • Inexpensive • Easy to cut • Very easy to remove Cons: • Won't stick to cardboard. Sticky note sticks better. After two failures I finally had to glue it • Very easy to scratch. The slightest touch with a polishing tool scratched the black surface, leaving white flecks.* Very easy to tear. When trying to fold the folds, the paper tore. It happened in multiple places even when I tried to be gentle. • There were occasional dark spots on the surface. They looked like they were being touched with oily hands (that's how she was in the role, my hands were clean). In comparison, I had no problems with Abyssaly [B07T4N63TK] silk embossed contact paper. Even though it's more expensive, it's still not expensive. It was also easy to cut, very sticky (no glue needed) and didn't scratch or crack even when I smoothed it out and made sharp creases with a polishing tool and my fingernail. I understand that silk embossed contact paper is advertised as wallpaper and this is advertised as shelf liner, which might explain some of the differences, but I have used other contact paper for shelf liners before without the problems I've had with this material. It wouldn't work as a shelf pad at all considering how poorly it sticks and how easily it scratches and tears. To be honest, I don't recommend this paper for any purpose. It's just not suitable. i give it back
