Wow! What junk. I received this nit cracker on Sunday 26th August. I cracked maybe 30 almonds with it. It broke today after only 3 days of ownership. felt really heavy and solid. It doesn't matter if it breaks! Update 9/4 - I was sent a replacement nutcracker which mostly warped after I shelled 10 almonds. I would definitely not recommend this item for cracking almonds. My suggestion would be to get a vise and adjust the gap so it is about 1/2 inch open at the mouth. This worked much better for me!
