Bought for a friend who has never worked with digital video. He had some 8mm cassettes that he wanted to compress onto DVD but couldn't get the video onto his computer. I work with video and had many suggestions for him, but he wanted something easy. Get to know ADS Video Express. I was skeptical about this product because it was very cheap and used USB instead of FireWire but he loves this product and hasn't had any issues. Digitized video is clean and smooth. He uses it with Windows Movie Maker and when he digitizes the 8mm tape he even recognizes scenes so he gets separate clips for each part of his video. After I told him everything he could use it for he was blown away - digitizing TV, VHS, some DVDs and he can even plug in his 8mm camera and use it as a webcam for live streaming. ! I would recommend this product to anyone looking at this. Very good product!
