This product replaces the "Original Equipment" gas spring end fitting which failed spectacularly when a gust of wind quickly and forcefully opened our motorhome's front door. We have experienced similar gusts of wind since installing this end fitting, but this fitting easily detaches and can be reinstalled without breaking!
