Review on Cabiclean True HEPA Replacement Filter for Honeywell HPA Series Air Purifiers, 6 Pack by Tim Rios

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Two orders, one seller, one warehouse, two different filters. Purchase at your own risk.

2ND UPDATE - 6/2/2021 Received replacements for a broken set, they came in a white box with no markings and the filters are identical to the original set, they fit perfectly. Again - same seller and same Revain warehouse it shipped from. It's very confusing and stupid that a buyer has to go through this just to get a good set of filters. REVIEW UPDATED - LESS THAN ONE WEEK AFTER THE FIRST - 05/02/2021 I just wrote my first review the other day. and after that I went ahead and bought 6 more packs of filters. Well, the second six filter packs were NOT the same as the first. These filters were obviously smaller and, as some other reviews say, didn't fit in the unit at all (fancy). Air could pass unhindered on one side. I have attached a photo comparison of two different filters. The first set (good) came in a plain white box, while the second set (awful set) came in a Cabiclean branded box. The first set (good set) was made heavier, stiffer, etc. The second set (bad set) was extremely weak. with significantly fewer wrinkles. Both shipped from the same seller and same local Revain warehouse to confuse things even more. Photo 1 shows two filters side by side. The bottom filter was a filter that came in a plain white box - it has more pleats and a more rigid outer frame. The second photo shows a slight size difference. Unfortunately, this small difference means that the second filter will never be properly installed. In the third photo, the differences are indicated by arrows. The top filter in the photo was a good filter (there was a sticker with an arrow on the end of the filter), while the bottom filter was a bad filter (there was an embossed arrow on the side). If I have experience buying these filters I will not buy them again as it is unfair to the consumer to guess which set they will receive. I sent back a bad set for exchange and will see what they send me. I suppose if by "loose" you mean that the filter doesn't need to be pinched in like other brands (which can result in one end snagging or bending - and thus bypassing), then yes - that it's correct. Honeywell HPA cleaners have foam pads that the filters sit on and as soon as the cleaner is turned on, the suction created pulls the filter firmly against the foam pad. This creates tightness and not the tightness of the filter in the slot. The filter's outer frame is also stiffer than other manufacturers (even better than Honeywell OEM), which also provides a better fit and seal. It appears to have as many wrinkles as OEM Honeywell, so that's a good thing. Time will tell how long they last, but at this price point - with build quality as good as I've seen - that's not an issue. BUY IT!
