1440p Ultrawide + 15 " Macbook Pro (Touchbar) + this cable = poor playback.
I bought this cable to connect to my 34" LG ( with 1440p support) and my 15" Macbook Pro (touchpad) and it doesn't work. It keeps plugging in and going to 1080p I know it's not a computer or monitor issue as I'm working with the same Computer connecting to two 4k monitors Unfortunately they don't play well together I went ahead and switched back my Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 1 dongle + cable Gave the product 3 stars because it's well made and looks great.
