Review on ๐Ÿš— Monroe Gas-Magnum 34817 Shock Absorber - Enhanced for SEO by Roger King

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Shock absorbers, ideal for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

I had these on my old classic Chevy 66 pickup 20 years ago and switched to Gabriels. The Monroe Gas Magnums are way better than the Gabriels and my old truck drives great. Very taut but keeps the rear wheels on the road. Installation was a little tricky as the shocks didn't come with a compression strap. Adjusting the bottom while trying to keep them compressed was difficult. I used a jack to press them together, then held them up and installed them on the lower shocks. I recommend these shocks for older Chevys.

Pros
  • FOR LONG LIFE - Heavy duty nitro carbon alloy rod (units without dust cover only) and sintered iron piston increase reliability and extend life, while the self-lubricating fluid seal reduces piston rod friction to minimal wear
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen
