Cleans the bottom of the iron
After a friend gave me a new set of sheets, I washed and dried them and lightly ironed the pillowcases with an iron on a low setting. To my dismay, the covers ironed well even though my iron was on low power, but the underside of my new cordless iron, which is less than a year old, had ugly burn marks. After thinking a bit about what to do with the cold iron, I put a small drop of this substance on a paper towel and BAM! The iron plate has a mirror surface on the back! However, the sheets are in a cloth bag.
