I got it today and it's really cool. At first I didn't quite understand what to do with it, I opened the box and found all these cables, I had no idea what to do with them but I put them aside and forgot about them. So what is this thing really? ? Well, before it got here, I envisioned some kind of thin device with a couple of ports, maybe a volume control and stuff. Like a little sound card. Well it didn't look like what I thought at all, it's actually just a circuit board with all the components soldered onto it. It's not a problem, just something a little different than what I thought. I started setting it up, so I went to the App Store and downloaded the "4Stream" app. Once that was done I opened it but was greeted with a really confusing message asking me to make sure my phone and streaming device are on the same network. . . Hm? This is a circuit board. How the hell am I supposed to connect it to Wi-Fi? After reading the online manual, I found out what I actually needed to do. So if anyone has a similar problem, here's what's going on. When you turn on or actually connect your stream, it starts streaming to an unencrypted WiFi network, which you can join like any other WiFi network. If you don't see it, press and hold the button on the device, and then wait a few seconds for it to appear. Connect and return to the application, after which it can find what it is looking for. Once that's done, 4Stream walks you through connecting the device to your real home WiFi, which means you give the app location permissions for whatever reason, then select from a list of available hotspots and enter your password. Once the stream is connected, you'll have the option to rename it, and then you're done. Personally I haven't found myself broadcasting content from within the app, I use the device's abilities to stream because broadcasting is cool. My only issue with this unit after a few hours of use is that the line out jack plays mono audio. . It's a bit annoying, but oh well. I'll try to figure out how to get some stereo working and if I can't I might just buy another one of these units to cover it. I'll update if I learn anything else of note or experience something worth sharing online. Update, three days later: Okay, I feel stupid. The 4Stream app literally has a button that lets you select channels to output through the 3.5mm jack and your options are left channel, right channel and, wait, stereo! I don't know how I missed this before, but damn I'm glad I found this. So that I can no longer complain about this product, I am increasing my rating to 5 stars.
