The thermos is well made, but there is a problem with the design. If you fill it with something warm like soup, the hot drink will continue to release hot vapors like steam when you unscrew the lid. This increases the internal pressure in the thermos, which pushes outwards on the top of the thermos. This pressure can be so great that the force on the lid prevents you from unscrewing the lid and makes it impossible for you to open the thermos to eat its contents. The same thing happens when you put a fizzy drink inside, as the release of fizzy drinks also increases the internal pressure and prevents you from unscrewing the cap. The only way to unscrew the top would be if there was a special valve you could press down on to release the internal pressure before you start unscrewing the top. Unfortunately, this is not part of the thermos design.
