I've been watching for a clock that I could mount on the wall to be seen from my side of the bed - our alarm clock is on the other side and I practically have to get out of bed to see what time it is and I have no interest in keeping my phone nearby.This clock was my first attempt at a solution. As described, on battery power, the display shuts off unless the clock is touched or there is a noise, then it displays the time/date/temperature for about 5 seconds each and shuts off again. This can be set to only display time as well.The instructions are not great. You pretty much just have to figure it out for yourself after a few badly translated hints. There are only 4 buttons, so trial and error are about your best bet. I didn't have to set any alarms and I didn't need to set a timer, but I could see basically how it would have been done.The sound sensor is very sensitive. It doesn't react to "white noise" (which I require to sleep), but any sudden sound turns it on and that's really what it's supposed to do, but I wish it was just a little less sensitive. I also wish the brightness was adjustable - when this lights up in a dark room, it's pretty bright!This has a fold out stand to place it on a flat surface, or it has a magnet on the back and includes an adhesive-backed metal disc so it can be stuck on a vertical surface. In my case, I was lucky enough to have a large flat metal bolt head I could stick the magnet to right where I wanted it.It's serving my purpose for now, but it is quite sensitive and quite bright in a dark room. If you used it with USB power so it didn't shut the display off this would be an effective nightlight. A brightness adjustment would be a great improvement for my purpose. I haven't heard what the alarm sounds like and have no immediate plans to use it.I looked at quite a few clocks trying to find something to suit my purpose and didn't find too much that I found interesting, so clearly this clock is at least a little bit unique and gives you some mounting versatility. So far, I haven't noticed it lighting up so bright in the night that it wakes me up, but I can't help but wonder just how many times it comes on - and how long the batteries last. Unless/until something better presents itself, I'll be content to use this clock, it does the job.
