Size between an orange and a grapefruit. There are three colors when you click on them. If you want a dimmer light, you can keep your finger on the silver charge point (it's an on-off sensor system) and release when it gets as dark as you like. The more you leave the dimmer on overnight, the longer it will last between charges. It doesn't come with a USB-to-female adapter, but you probably already have a dozen of them. The charging cable is short but long and is not needed. The instructions(?) didn't say how to assemble the base, but there was only one way to do it, so there wasn't a problem. The sphere glows reddish when charging and clear when fully charged.
