This camera takes great pictures in most conditions (low light is not one of them). If you're just looking for a pocket camera for general use, there are better options. But if you're looking for a waterproof camera for water sports (kayak, canoe, snorkeling, etc.), this camera can take some pretty impressive shots. Its story mode offers a wide range of options including 3 underwater options. On a recent Caribbean cruise, I dropped it to 10 feet a few times and spent hours in the water. No leaks. However, in sunlight you have to set the monitor's brightness to maximum, and even then I found the monitor unsuitable for underwater use. You just can't see it through your mask. However, that didn't stop me from taking great photos. Just stretch out your arms, aim and shoot. All relatives were impressed by the photos I took. This camera performs perfectly for its intended purpose. I recommend the floating headband option. I've used it whenever I've been in the water and intend to use it while kayaking.
