I ordered one at first but on second thought I added another to use two and they arrived at the same time. I really think they should only sell them in pairs because I don't think using just one is a good idea. I took an idea from another reviewer and attached it to 2x6 so the spacing would be equal and easier to adjust. The nice thing is that this actually reinforces the bottom tier, and the downside of my setup is that it didn't affect the downward force from the next tier to the actual trailer anchorage. Our follower is 18 years old and I weigh 210 pounds so I always feel stress will be an issue. I solved this problem by adding two bolt stabilizers that go all the way to the actual trailer mount. I ended up with two retractable stabilizers from a previous trailer that worked great. Now my steps are like concrete steps, not curves. And no stress in the trailer! It may be an exaggeration, but that's how I drive.
