This tool contains a couple of adapter clamps and a crazy metal ring which is useless - it's twisted and bent. I'm assuming it's some kind of collar, but the instructions basically say "read the instructions" and are useless. You may hate this shroud, but once plugged in, it works surprisingly well. Reduces dust by 99%. If you're "skillful" and have common sense and a penchant for duct tape and quick fixes, you might be up to the task. I have three mills. Old Master - no option to attach. Older Dewalt - can't connect it so it was flat. And old Bosch. One of the black collars worked, but the locking lever would not stay closed. So I used wire to hold the lever in place (see photo). After the installation problem was solved, a big problem emerged - the hose. The supplied adapter is useless. It is tiered on the outside, uniform in size on the inside. Cannot be connected to large or small vacuum hose. I ended up using an adapter on a small hose - I had to cut off one end to fit through the hose. The other end fits into the housing connector. BUT - jumps out at the slightest jerk. So introduce electrical tape - there's plenty of it. It works out. In hindsight, I could have omitted the adapter altogether and just taped the hose to the shroud. Whatever it is, it's rigged and works great. As for actual use, it takes practice. It's really easy to tilt it down and make a deeper narrow groove. The grinding wheel sits about 1/4 inch above the bottom of the bristles so you have to push it down to grind - this is handy because you can really control the depth of cut. It's just hard to keep up the level. So – again – practice. in a very high position!
