For almost 30 years I have been capping caulking hoses with a bolt using a huge dollop of caulk to cover the outside of the hose. It was generally effective, although not 100%. I bought four of these to try and they have been 100% effective so far. I have used them on clear silicone, white silicone, liquid nails, concrete caulking, bath caulking and roof caulking and have removed and resealed multiple times. Cleaning for reuse on another hose is easy and they remain flexible at low temperatures.
