Edit March 2020: I think they are better suited for light use. I put them on a new backpack that doesn't close smoothly and one of them broke. Now I'm looking at Maxpedition and another brand with reflective rope. First review: I bought these to tie up my laptop organizer for my dad who turns 100 this year. It is easier for him to reach for the zippered pocket where the illuminated magnifying glass and pens are stowed. I used orange and yellow buckles which showed up much better on the black canvas. Since there were quite a few pull tabs in this set I put one in my work bag and it comes in very handy. I just bought an Osprey travel backpack and it has similar zippers on most zippers but I'm considering swapping some out for other colors so we have a visual way to find each compartment more easily. I also plan to change some of the locks on my rolling suitcase and offer some to my grandkids for their winter coats. I haven't tried using zippers outdoors like I would on a ski pack or jacket, but I think it would be a little easier to grab when wearing thicker mittens or gloves.
