My best summary of these bad boys. With a banana for the scales!

So I searched the internet for a few informative reviews of this product (or other Boytone products) and found a serious lack of results. So here is my best short and sweet review of these speakers. Design / Appearance. I bought them for $49.99 and they look like much higher quality speakers. The image actually makes these speakers stand out unlike many of their competitors. The entire front of the front unit is covered with a high-gloss, transparent plastic. It's not glass, but I'm okay with it as it weighs a ton. It looks very stylish and modern without being too flashy or overpowering. The satellite speakers match this look with a glossy round finish on the bottom (this is purely cosmetic as far as I know). Side by side this small system looks very elegant. If I had to complain, I would say that the only thing that bothers me is the weak LED display. It's harder to read in bright light, but it's possible. Price 5/5 for this category. functionality. So if I had to dismiss these speakers for anything, it would be their advertised functionality versus reality. They stated that they are compatible with almost everything, including AUX-in. Well it's true. As you can see from the photos, there is no AUX port here. That's because, no. They have left/right RCA input and a very poor quality AUX to RCA cable to get around this. That's fine, but if you're like me and have lots of spare AUX cords you want to use, you're out of luck. I have to remove the case from the phone and leave the cable intact for it to play clearly. Also, as expected, the Bluetooth range is nowhere near 33 feet. I can get about 15 feet of clear distance (which means there's no signal obstruction between me and the speakers) before it goes in and out. When I turn any corner, I mean EVERY corner and break line of sight to the speakers, it almost always starts to dissipate and sometimes even shuts off completely. But I was expecting it, so I wasn't too disappointed. 4/5 for functionality. Sounds good. Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh let me post that disclaimer first). If you see reviews claiming that these speakers don't meet "audiophile" standards, ignore them. If you're a music lover, why the heck buy and price lower brand/budget speakers? So now that I can't get it out of my head, here's my personal opinion. Designed by someone who loves audio products (speakers, headphones, car stereo, etc.), these speakers will not disappoint. They sound great and can be pretty darn loud without distortion. If you have a bass head, they will meet all your slapping needs. The bass is quite tight and clear even at high volumes. Both mids and highs remain optimal without being overwhelmed by the subwoofer. I compared them to my BOSE Companion speakers and they were surprisingly good. Sure, the Bose speakers beat them a bit, very warm and rich, but barely. But when I could buy 6 sets of these speakers for the price of a Bose set, they became my go-to speakers to use for anything. Grill outside, ping pong in basement, or light tap while cooking/cleaning. That's why I gave these speakers 5 points. Fantastic value. I hope this review helps and I will also try to upload some photos (even with a banana as a benchmark for all Imgurians) ;)
