Review on ๐Ÿšด High-Performance Brake Disc Bike Brake Pads for AVID Elixir 7 Trail/Elixir 9 Trail/XO Trail SRAM G2, Guide R/RS/RSC Ultimate by John Kennedy

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Can't update the poor tiny Guide R with new pads. No difference.

Ventilation required. I had no idea how BAD, CHEAP, WEAK and TINY are Sram Guide R "4-piston" baby 4-piston calipers? THESE WONDERFUL pads would be AMAZING if applied to the right design. So to speak. My Chinese Zoom 2-piston hydraulic disc brake calipers are stronger than these x2! And 1.5mm rotors are pathetic here. Luckily I'll order real 4-piston brakes right away. Magura MT5. who cares about simplicity, design, modulation and size. Yes luckily I have them on 2 great REAR 203mm wheels which are better than the Guide R in the front! AND MT5 FRONT 203mm 1.8-9mm front on the awesome 27.5 Trail/Enduro Trek Fuel EX8 Plus. THANK GOD. You know every MT5 piston is larger than a quarter, but the Guide R pistons are embarrassingly less than a dime! LOL WHAT. So currently the bike is an 8/10 until the brakes are upgraded. The second MT5 goes straight on my other XC 26er bike just like before.

Pros
  • Extreme stopping power with comfortable braking
Cons
  • Long delivery time
