Review on 🚿 High Sierra's All Metal 1.5 GPM High Efficiency Low Flow Showerhead with Trickle Valve - Available in Chrome, Brushed Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, or Polished Brass by Sandra Saksena

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does what it's supposed to, suitable for kitchen and bathroom fixtures

I've been using small solid metal shower heads with shut off valves for over twenty years. The price of this product isn't because of its all-metal construction (although the polishing job is fantastic) but because of the patent on how it works. And it works. Compared to any of the other all-metal showerheads (2.5 GPM), it produces far less vapor, a much warmer center stream, and a more powerful jet at six feet. The downside is that the spray pattern is narrower and less evenly distributed around the edges. I can't comment on the pressure compensating nature of the flow restrictor as we have a water pressure reducing valve that is set at 60psi and I recently replaced it. I've seen many Revain reviews for different shower heads confusing flow, pressure and speed and taking them all with a grain of salt. I doubt a 1 GPM drop would ever "pay off" but these models are all the same price and the humidity in our room gets too high in the summer - the main reason I went with them. I bought two and tested the first in a full size fiberglass tub before purchasing the second for a small plexiglass shower. We have switches and hand showers, but do not mount hand showers on the shower arm. No complaints about flushing at 1.5 GPM. In a small shower stall with only a curtain, I was bothered by the jet bouncing around and coming out of the shower. I love that you can just pivot the sprayer on the swivel - it's important to have it pointed in a safe direction at the end of each shower as it looks more like a garden hose sprayer than anything else.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • No performance
