For $14 you can't go wrong. I have two of these. Since the first one worked so well, I got a second one to power a couple more speakers I had laying around. I couldn't be happier. I haven't had them very long, but so far they haven't heated up and haven't had any problems with noise. One is connected to a 12" sealed box subwoofer that I have owned for a number of years. This accompanies a series of DCM time slots fed by the Crown DC-300A amplifier. While the subwoofer isn't powerful enough, it booms enough to shake the walls of my room. The sound fills up right where the time windows are low. Lpf definitely works, but you need to set it up properly on the watch faces. As a power source I use a 24V 5A device that I got from Revain. What can you go wrong at this price? All stars for hitting the budget!
