Works well with 24V in receivers and amplifiers

At first I wasn't very impressed when I connected it to a 12V 360W power supply. I dug up an old 24v 360w power supply and this amp really came to life. There's very little hiss or distortion here, and there's a decent range of bass, loudness and stereo volume settings. This easily powers a pair of 280W peak, 80W RMS, 4-ohm quad speakers and a 300W, 100W peak 8-inch subwoofer. The connections are a little crooked and some of the potentiometers are a little tight. With some effort with a…

"Subwoofer " output does not pass low frequencies

The subwoofer output passes frequencies up to about 10,000 Hz, about -6 dB lower, so it is not suitable for direct control of the subwoofer driver , unless it's a passive low frequency filter pass on site, which isn't cost effective if you don't already have the parts on hand. So unless you want tight and dirty bass, the subwoofer channel isn't very useful. The left and right channels work normally and in all ranges. good function. Audio inputs are also good: jack or 3.5mm jack. It comes with…

How can you be wrong?

For $14 you can't go wrong. I have two of these. Since the first one worked so well, I got a second one to power a couple more speakers I had laying around. I couldn't be happier. I haven't had them very long, but so far they haven't heated up and haven't had any problems with noise. One is connected to a 12" sealed box subwoofer that I have owned for a number of years. This accompanies a series of DCM time slots fed by the Crown DC-300A amplifier. While the subwoofer isn't powerful enough, it…

Read if the inrush current can cause you problems

Although I can't comment on the audio quality as my app is a retro arcade game and therefore low audio quality, I wanted it doing would warn others about something that could be a problem. I use a Mean Well power supply to power my arcade. The power supply has a 12V and 5V bus. This amp is powered by a 12V rail, which also powers the marquee LEDs. When the Raspberry Pi is running (disconnected from 5V) and you plug in the amplifier, there is an inrush current of about 2 amps. I see a spike on…

Good design few limitations

The layout and assembly of this product is very good. Why didn't it get 5 stars for 3 things: 1) Crooked central management. This won't be a problem for ANY of them, but assembling mine on a plate would look silly. 2) There is a long heatsink in the middle of the board. There is no thermal paste on the underside of the chips. Also, there is no thread lock on the single screw that holds the heatsink in place. Temperature changes will cause these to loosen, and without lubrication, the sink will…

Very good performance and sound clarity

Excellent amplifier! The sound is nice and clear and the sub-channel has a low-pass filter. There's still a lot of vocals coming through the subwoofer, but it definitely has some sort of high-end attenuation. Separate volume controls for the main channels and subwoofer are much appreciated as they allow you to mix to your liking. Compared to other amps in this price range, this one looks a bit cheaper in terms of components. Maybe I'd build a box for it with a 3D printer or find another way to…

4 1/5 stars because it's very good but not perfect.

I used a 19v laptop power supply that plugged directly into the board. I have a pair of Alesis 100 watt professional quality studio monitors and a Klipsch subwoofer that was part of the dead Klipsch 2.1 powered speaker system. The input is connected to my desktop PC. These speakers can use a lot of power and this board suits them well. GOOD: Sounds great, lots of power, clean and quiet - no hissing. It can be loud and does a great job with a subwoofer. The board itself is well made. The pans…
