Although I can't comment on the audio quality as my app is a retro arcade game and therefore low audio quality, I wanted it doing would warn others about something that could be a problem. I use a Mean Well power supply to power my arcade. The power supply has a 12V and 5V bus. This amp is powered by a 12V rail, which also powers the marquee LEDs. When the Raspberry Pi is running (disconnected from 5V) and you plug in the amplifier, there is an inrush current of about 2 amps. I see a spike on my bench DMM set to trend mode. While RPI performance didn't seem to be affected, it should be on reboot. I'm currently looking for a more reliable power supply that will hopefully handle this increase without causing problems with devices on other buses. Overall, the power supply had enough amperage for my purpose if it hadn't been for this increase.
