Review on Enhance Your Audio Experience with the ASUS Strix SOAR Sound Card by Mateusz Zjc ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are deviations, in general it is tolerable.

I'm leaving this review on 07/18/2022 only because of the terrible drivers and terrible asus support. At the time of purchase (about 18 years old) there were problems with drivers for Windows 10, now the problem is the complete absence of drivers for Windows 11 (there is no way and time to go back). Asus promised to release drivers for Windows 11 back in MAY, at the moment it's already JULY, there aren't even beta drivers yet, and according to tradition, if they release a driver, it will be buggy, and they will fix the current bugs for another 2-3 years. On Windows 11, the asus application conflicts with the built-in sound card, which is why the sound settings change all the time. Equalizers and switching output devices do not work completely either. If you manage to output sound from a sound card, then be prepared for the fact that not all applications and games support adequate detection of output devices, because of which there will simply be no sound in the program and there is nothing you can do about it, except switch the sound back to embedding.

Pros
  • Compared to Realtek® ALC1220-VB, this sound card is much brighter and sounds better at low frequencies There is a headphone amplifier and a small microphone amplifier (cannot be compared with phantom power, but much better than the built-in one) Cleared the sound from pickups that went around the case, because of which the noise in the headphones and microphone disappeared (later it left with the replacement of the PSU)
Cons
  • Terrible drivers
