Great product, wrong instructions! Here are the basic tips for a proper installation...

You know how to do screen protectors right! The screen protector is transparent, durable, holds its shape and allows images and text to shine through bright, clear and without distortion (unlike what usually happens with anti-reflective screen protectors). You really won't know it's on! You can't go wrong when you get her protector. However, their installation instructions, while generally quite good, are flawed in some critical aspects and these flaws lead to installation problems (see below for some installation tips). KIT You get a decent kit for your $10. a screen cleaning cloth, a hard plastic scraper to remove bubbles, and even sticky strips to lift the screen protector and remove dust and lint! They include 2 protectors (which comes in handy when you know what you're doing) and gives you a backup in case of almost inevitable failures. The packaging is well organised, with an information leaflet etc. One downside to the kit is that only one sheet comes with a couple of dust removal strips. A second sheet of this would be really helpful. INSTALLATION TIPS Installing a protector is an art and a difficult task. Take a good chunk of your time and time when you are relaxed and able to focus. Make sure your iPad is exposed to bright light so you can see the edge of the protective film on your iPad. This also allows you to see if there is dust on the screen. Your FIRST step is to clean the display according to the instructions! The most important step in installing a profile is at the very beginning. When you start sticking it you should make sure that 1. the edge of the protective film is lined up EXACTLY *along* the bottom edge of the iPad (there will be a small gap which should be EXACTLY the same size around the edge) AND2. The home button hole is PERFECTLY centered around it. In fact, to do both jobs, the screen protector will only be slightly back from the beveled edge of the iPad, but you need to look at the ENTIRE edge to make sure it's even across the entire edge. It shouldn't be bent into a corner or showing more of the front of the iPad in one place than another. Yes, that means getting in line. But this is important. If you can adjust the screen protector to fit the bottom edge (i.e. same padding all over) AND get the hole right centered around the home button, everything else will work like a charm.β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” β€”β€” β€” β€” β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Trust me when I say you want it to be EXACTLY centered - and EXACTLY aligned with the edge. If you do this, the rest of the installation will be a breeze. Note. This is NOT the place for "close enough" or time to accept small deviations. I would like to emphasize: NEAR ENOUGH IS NOT GOOD! It is essential that you do this step correctly, otherwise you will definitely have problems with the installation. The protector is in the wrong position, the chamber opening at the top may be covered. etc.β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Let me summarize the main steps: 1. BRIGHT LIGHT ON THE IPAD 2. MAKE IT IN THE DINING ROOM ABOVE. Initially, I recommended doing this on a carpet or a freshly laundered sheet; However, I did the 2nd one at the dining table on a linen napkin. Worked very well. The big advantage is that you work at eye level, you don't have to bend or squat in the bathroom or on the carpet, which puts a lot of strain on your back and makes it difficult to get things right. Clean the display according to their instructions - make sure you remove ALL dust particles. It may help to hold the device at different angles to see what the bullet is.4. Then make sure the protective film is aligned with the bottom edge of your iPad! Yes, that's right, and 5. REMEMBER THAT THE HOLE MUST BE CENTERED AROUND THE HOME BUTTON.6. PEEL SLOWLY AND *APPLY* TO SCREEN. Do it slowly or you will get HUGE blisters. If you follow these steps, your life will be good! :-)β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” TA INSTALLATION GUIDEβ€”QUESTION I recommend watching the installation video on You Tube. However, I'd like to see it reshot and get rid of the annoying, distracting soundtrack. This is not reassuring at all and interferes with information processing. Here's the rub: Not enough time and information is given to the most important step in the installation process. You line it up elegantly and casually at the edge. This step of opening 1-2 inches of the protector and aligning it with the edge of the iPad is without a doubt the most important step in the whole process. You need to zoom in and show what is meant, what it looks like, and emphasize its meaning. Also, you only have to fold back about 2 inches, which is a lot less than what they show. And then, like I said, apply it as you go. The same goes for their printed instructions. They just don't emphasize the importance and importance of the step of queuing. They even incorrectly state what to do in text instructions, saying that on tablets you need to align the protector with the "long edge" of the device. Well, that's impossible - apparently this is the BOTTOM edge that the iPad is aligned with. iPad so you can see how well the tread is aligned. It might be hard to see! This is another of those things that are really worth paying attention to. Otherwise you will encounter problems. PREVIOUS ADVICE - IGNORE: Place a light, even a table lamp, on the floor or carpet where you will be working and install it first. Here's where to do it: I got lucky the second time around the dinner table. JUST LOOK AT THE FOOD CRUMPS! Contrary to Tech Armor's advice - and what you'll see online - DO NOT do this in a bathroom where moisture could get into the iPad, at least not after a shower! Instead, do it on your dining table, but hold your iPad in front of you, on a napkin, and be careful not to drop it! The home button hole was slightly misaligned which meant that when I removed the rest of the back cover and finished applying the screen protector, the screen protector was a bit messed up and the facetime camera hole was not properly centered at the top! A second attempt - well, a few, to be honest - were unsuccessful and there were quite a few dust and lint marks on the tread. (I've done it in the bathroom too!) (Working on hard tile floors isn't fun.) Disappointing, sure. This means you will see some bubbles under the protective sheet and when the iPad is on you can see some lint. It seems that they can be brushed off, but they are under a protective film! I was able to remove some with dust strips but they soon ran out. In addition, when lifting the tread, new fluff came under the tread! For now we leave it enabled. best-selling tablets like the iPad and iPad mini. This allowed users to understand exactly what the EXACT arrangement of the items on the home button and at the bottom meant. Such a video should show how NOT to do this, ie part of the video should show what happens if the first step of alignment is not done correctly! The TA must also: 1. Remove annoying repetitive "background music" from their videos. 2. STRESS the importance of the alignment step in your video and text direction. 3. Convert your setup videos to HTML 5 instead of Flash. 4. Use direct links from TA's website to a specific video. What happens instead is that you end up on TA's YouTube channel and have to search again for the video you just clicked and wanted. Aggravation! CONCLUSION However, none of these difficulties are exclusive to Tech Armor defenders. The main thing is that they have an excellent profile - clear, well-functioning - and that the TA package and directional efforts are much better than many of their competitors. Despite the difficulties I have encountered, I will definitely buy their protectors again. And that several times!
