Good thing you just want to hold the gloves still. It holds the strap in place until you bend or kneel for something, then the entire clip releases. It's good that you don't move too much other than walking. The gloves hold onto the clip fairly well, but overall the clip doesn't hold up well. I would not recommend it if you are a person who needs to move.
